The Susie Cup Angling Competition 2008
On Saturday 10th May the exclusive 7 Lakes Country Park, situated between Crowle and junction 2 of the M180, will once again host the Susie Cup Angling Competition. The competition is held in memory of 7 Lakes Country Park holiday home owner and keen angler Susie Legg whose life was so tragically cut short in a horrific road accident in August 2005 on the M62 motorway whilst Susie and husband Gordon were travelling to 7 Lakes Country Park which was the couple's haven. Susie had just bought her husband the holiday home at the park to mark their 30th wedding anniversary.
This is the third competition to be held and provides excellent angling sport and prizes for the 80 entrants on the special waters found within the 120 acre facility. The stunning 40 acre Clearwater Lake provides a real challenge as it holds many species of specimen size. The main aim of the event though is to raise as much money as possible for charities Susie’s husband Gordon supports in her memory. A section of the entry fee and a grand raffle, together with sponsorship monies, will all help the cause. The Air Ambulance Charity is a particular favourite of Gordon’s as the facility almost certainly saved his life.
The event is this year proudly supported by The Fishing Republic, England’s largest fishing superstore chain, who are holding a tackle show, open to all on the day with several Susie Cup special deals on offer. 7 Lakes Country Park bars and restaurant facilities are also open for everyone to enjoy so why not come along and support this special event. You can also view the fantastic range of both new and pre owned holiday homes available and become part of this exclusive park.
